Thrive is our shared space for professional learning across BFMAT — a monthly, evolving CPD magazine focused on teaching, learning, and student-led practice.
Each edition of the Thrive Zine brings together research, reflections, practical strategies, and classroom-tested ideas from colleagues across all three colleges. It celebrates what’s already working well, surfaces thoughtful experimentation, and creates space for discussion, debate, and professional curiosity.
This Moodle area acts as the central portal for Thrive. Alongside each monthly zine, you’ll find:
- accompanying resources and materials
- links to further reading and research
- practical tools and examples to trial in your own context
- recordings and follow-up from related CPD, including Thrive Connect teach-meets
While contributions vary in style and focus, they all connect to our shared commitment to student-led learning, including themes such as choice, effective learning behaviours, application of knowledge, reflection and metacognition, and co-creation.
Thrive is designed to be dipped into as much as explored in depth — whether you’re looking for one practical idea to try next week, or time to reflect more deeply on your practice. It’s also a collaborative space: future editions will continue to be shaped by staff contributions, conversations, and shared experiences from across the trust.
Think of Thrive not as a one-off read, but as a growing professional dialogue — and a place to return to regularly as new ideas, resources, and voices are added.
